The OT
The 76ers hosted the Bulls tonight at the Wachovia Center.
The team played shorthanded, as they were without the services of All-Star guard Allen Iverson, who was away from the team with a personal matter. Nevertheless, Andre Iguodala stepped up his game leading the 76ers to a 106-103 overtime win. Iguodala’s defense of Derrick Rose down the stretch, as well as some key baskets sparked the Sixers in the 4th quarter…and his 3-pointer in the extra period helped seal the deal with 1:19 to go.
He finished with 25-points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists, while Elton Brand added 26-points, and 9 boards to ensure the team’s 17th victory. During the post game interview, Andre expressed his thoughts on the win saying, “I think it was a good win…it’s been a tough year for our team…but we’re not that far out [of the playoff race]…”
This marks the 5th time that the Sixers have won 2-games in a row this season.
The 76ers will travel to New Orleans to face the Hornets on Friday, February 5th. Game time is scheduled for 8PM EST.
