The 76ers hosted the Minnesota Timberwolves tonight at the Wachovia Center.
The last time these teams matched up, the Sixers lost a heartbreaker 108-103 in overtime on January 18th in Minnesota…however the home team played extremely tough to make sure history wouldn’t repeat itself. Philadelphia’s hard work paid off, as they scored 73-points in the first half, with 43 of those points coming in the 2nd quarter…which are both season highs.
Andre Iguodala led the 76ers’ 119-97 victory with 24-points, 4 rebounds, and 6 assists, and Elton Brand added 21-points to push the win streak to 5-games. The bench played just as big as Lou Williams chipped in 16-points, and Thaddeus Young had 15 in this total team effort. Wayne Ellington the Philadelphia native, led the Timberwolves with 16 in the losing effort.
Philadelphia is scheduled to travel north to play against the Raptors tomorrow at 7:00PM EST.
